COMMON QUERIES

THE BIG QUESTION:

WHY DO YOU DO WHAT YOU DO?

Problem 1: Smith College produces 12 tons of clothing waste every year and that number is just from the move out period at the end of the year. So much waste could be reduced if students could simply sell the things that they don't need to other students who may need that item.

Problem 2: Smith College has a Free and For Sale page on Facebook which is incredibly disorganized. The algorithm is inefficient and there is no way to update a status of an item or find a fast way to search for things.

UniSell seeks to solve those two problems.

CAN WE INTERACT WITH STUDENTS FROM OTHER COLLEGES?

We are starting on a local level at Smith College. Our next step is to expand to the other Five Colleges in the Pioneer Valley and hopefully find a way so students can buy and sell items in different colleges.

DOES UNISELL SELL THINGS?

Nope! College students buy and sell things to one another on campus. UniSell is just a space online that makes these transactions easier.

WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT OPTIONS?

Each student who chooses to sell an item on this app chooses the payment option they prefer whether it is Venmo, cash, or both!

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?

If you need to try on or look through items students will meet up on campus to exchange them. For example, if a student is selling a coat to another student, the buyer can try it on and decide if they want to buy it. Because of the face-to-face interaction, there is rarely a need for returns. However, sellers are ultimately the ones who determine them.
